This Saturday, SnowShoe and Hoos.in will be joining forces to host a Madison edition of the Foursquare Global Hackathon!

Join us at the SnowShoe office in Madison’s historic Train Depot–640 West Washington Avenue, Suite 201–for a day of hacking, food, drinks, and celebrating the new year. We’ll be providing the consumables and some soon-to-be-announced but very cool prizes.

We’ll also be providing our newly announced APIs to help get your idea off the ground. Just add your coding/hacking/business skills.

Happy New Year to all! We’ll see you on Saturday.

If you’re reading this, you must have survived this week’s winter storm (also known as Draco or, more simply, “snowpocalypse”)! It’s been a quiet week, but we’re happy to be wrapping up what’s been an incredible year for SnowShoe. 2012 brought a lot for us to celebrate!

Thank you for all your support this year. Wishing you a happy, healthy, safe and warm holiday season!

Andy Sernovitz makes a great point about daily deals in this recent blog post.  His argument in a nutshell?  Don’t do a Groupon-style deal if you are going to feel cheated by the customers redeeming their deals.  Daily deals only make sense if you can blow the socks off of every new customer that they bring in, thus converting all those new faces into loyal patrons.

As we approach the end of what has been an extremely exciting year for SnowShoe, we’re happy to announce another milestone! Over the weekend, we surpassed 4000 downloads of our native punchcard loyalty applications, bringing our total number of downloads up to 4026.

We’re excited about this number because it’s representative of how much we’re growing. In the few days since we passed 3000 downloads, we’ve added five new retail l0cations. Apps are now available for 12 retail locations.
