We announced in an earlier blog post that we’re sponsoring 3 Day Startup Madison, and the weekend is finally here!

3 Day Startup is a three-day, caffeine-fueled event where undergraduate students get together and build companies. The action starts this afternoon at 2 p.m. in Tong Auditorium on the UW-Madison campus and doesn’t stop until Sunday at 11:59 p.m.

If you want to see the final pitches after a long weekend of hard work, participants will be presenting at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in the UW-Madison Computer Sciences building, room CS1240. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.

SnowShoers will be dropping in all weekend and encouraging participants to build off the Stamp. Come join us for what’s sure to be a weekend of fantastic ideas!

SnowShoe has experienced great growth over the past year.  This fact was highlighted over the weekend, as we surpassed 3000 downloads of our native punchcard loyalty applications.

This is a huge number considering these apps can only be used at seven specific retail locations in Wisconsin and Illinois.  We are encouraging an average of 428 customers per store to buy more products more often, and to post to facebook, twitter and foursquare about their experiences.

Do you think your store could benefit from one of our punchcard apps?  Click here to find our more about the programs, and/or contact us to get started.

Want to start earning free stuff at one of our participating retailers?  Check out our apps in the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store.

Meet Sheradyn Mikul–UI/UX designer and SnowShoe’s newest employee! A recent Chicago transplant, Sheradyn works on a variety of design projects ranging from website elements to print materials.
What background and experience do you bring to SnowShoe?
I started my interactive design career four years ago at NogginLabs in Chicago. They develop custom e-learning software. I was initially hired to redesign their website but eventually transitioned into their team of designers.
How did you hear about SnowShoe and get involved?
I originally saw a job posting by SnowShoe for a UI/UX Designer and felt that my job skills matched well with the description. After doing some further research it was apparent how exciting the opportunity was and I couldn’t pass up applying for the position.
What is your role at SnowShoe today?
My role covers a variety of graphics related responsibilities to include the creation of website elements and supporting print materials as well as user experience design for SnowShoe products.
What’s the best part about working at SnowShoe?
The best part about working at SnowShoe is the people. I’m surrounded by a group of extremely intelligent and motivated individuals working together to make SnowShoe succeed.
How do you spend your free time outside of work?
I’m a huge sports fan so I love spending my time doing anything where I’m moving around. Madison has so many great opportunities to get outside. I also love watching the Packers and Badger sports.
What is the most embarrassing song or album in your music library?
The original soundtrack to The Lion King. I’m a sucker for Disney movies. Hakuna matata.

Today’s the big day! Wishing everyone safe travels and a wonderful day of celebrating with family, friends and loved ones.

It’s been a big year for us with so much to be thankful for-from new employees to major hackathon wins-and we’re so glad to take a moment and celebrate.

Whether you’re just pulling the pumpkin pie out of the oven or crashed on the couch watching football, we hope you’re having a fantastic Thanksgiving and long weekend!
